Any legal system that deprives some citizens (be it on grounds of religion, race, gender or nationality) of "locus standi" in matters that involve themselves & their loved ones, fails this condition, and cannot be adopted as the legal system of an entire nation. Statements by people like Zulkifli Nordin, who claim that the Syariah court can be fair to non-Muslims, and therefore should become the only legal system in Malaysia, are misleading and should not be trusted.
