Well said and if all umno politicians have the same thinking Malaysia will be the best place to live in. Unfortunately most of the time during UMNO general assembly, by-election and GE, umno clowns would bring up the racial issues and hatred towards the chinese just to win the malays votes.

Most of my friends are Malays and most of them condemn what umno is/are doing to the non malays. Even Malays don't like how umno politicians enrich themselves and the majority of the malays remain poor.

The only way out is to vote BN/umno out of the government.
Good. Look around us esp in Perak, Why the chinese just love Nizar. Simple he is true to his words. I have attended a number of PAS ceramah and not even a word of you Chinese or Indian or Malays were brought out. Not s single word of racism. How nice to listen to PAS politician speaking. Pas attack the policies and wrong doings of the government and its machineries. This is how a matured political party gives speaks at rallies and ceramah.

I agree, vince...!
Do we see any politician mixing with the locals to get to know us better or whatever problems we have & think about....??????????????????????????

No...! They are just busy "Datuking" & Datining" at functions only.

The Malaysian rakyat are very "casual" actually. We "know" we are multi racial...! We were "all" born into that "Malaysian" society.

Just so that the-powers-that-be retain their "powers", they use May 13th issue. Only by them...!

We, the rakyat, have had our eyes "opened" wide enough to understand & know the goverment. Now......!!!!!

Agree with the author that we should move on and learn from the past, but the problem plaguing our country now is not that the younger generations are having integration problems, in fact if you go out at night to many "mamak" stores, you can see our younger and older generations mingle together. If you were to asked them, they will tell you they have no problems with other races of younger generations.
The problem is certain people from certain quarters in power are trying to use this May 13 issue to frighten the people, to keep the rakyat tense and this is the major hindrance of better integrations. If not this then religion is used, but luckily of late, PAS have been doing a wonderful job clearing this misunderstanding up and that is why you will also see many non-muslims are also supporting PAS and their muslim brothers. So, bottom line is, it is the people in power that is the stumbling block.
