MyConstitution

The LoyarBurok Defence Team is calling on lawyers and pupils to join “Team100” to defend the Bar Council and MyConstitution Campaigners in Court.

MyConstitution

Last Sunday (5 September) evening when I heard the shocking news that an unknown 1Malaysia Youth Graduands Club had lodged a police report against the much-loved MyConsti Campaign claiming that its Rakyat Guides were seditious, the oft-quoted words of wisdom from Voltaire came to mind.

Voltaire said that “common sense is not so common” and the lodging of the report proved Voltaire to be right yet again.

In the present context, common sense (which is obviously lacking in some minds) tells us that the report was nothing more that an attempt by the Club to attract cheap publicity and gain some sort of recognition. C’mon, everyone knows that if you made a report against but-the-only-most-popular-movement-at-the-moment, its legion of fans would hate you, and you would be (in)famous instantly. The Club may now file a report against LoyarBurok!

It was another feeble attempt by ultra-right wing conservatives via their stooges to spread fear and unsubstantiated rumours among the masses in the desperate attempt to maintain their hegemony.

For the record, I also find the notion of any 1Malaysia “fan club” such as 1Malaysia Youth Graduands Club which supports the supremacy or superiority of one race over others to be a joke. It is an oxymoron. It is akin to saying that we are a group of non-discriminatory racists.

So, as part of my crusade against anything that is stupid and inane, I have, on behalf of the LoyarBurok Defence Team, offered our services on a pro bono basis to the Bar Council and the MyConsti members.

If the authorities are smart, or possess common sense, you would file the report and go away.

But if you are not, we challenge you to take this all the way.

You have my word that we will call on and mobilise 100 lawyers and pupils to comprise the Defence Team (a.k.a. “Team100”), and sit in Court to fill every Court bench. And to fight you on all fronts including in the trenches of every Court room.

And if you are still not going to get the message, I’m not sure what will.

Perhaps this tweet @edmundbon who chairs the Constitutional Law Committee will:

I’m really really sad. I’m sad because Club 1Msia has just turned millions of MyConsti Msians v Govt in name of 1Msia. Sob.

Note: We have a number of lawyers already on board. Let us continue recruiting. If you want to be part of Team100, please sign up by inserting your name and optionally, a short note addressed to the MyConsti people, in the Comments section below.

LB: The writer was supposed to be a reincarnation of Mahatma Gandhi, Malcolm X, Che Guevara, Hang Jebat, Bruce Lee and Nocturno Beasto (a black metal dude from Bergen, Norway) rolled into one. Due to the highly complicated “1Reincarnation process” (which was impossible anyway in the “1st” place because of discriminatory scientific-politico policies) and Lord Bobo’s intervention, he ended up as Amer Hamzah Arshad in the present life. And for the sins of others he has been condemned to practise law in Malaysia where nothing makes sense. The writer believes that Slayer’s “Reign in Blood” is still one of the best metal albums ever made.

  1. Oxymoron indeed.. the non-discriminatory racists.. you guys are the reason why Malaysia is now considered below the likes of Indonesia or Thailand.

I'm definitely in.. All the very best to the Defence Team.

  2. Lacking the required ethos to personally broach the below petitions and paragraphs, I ask that the below be communicated on article 153(b) of the Constitution of Malaysia by the "100 Lawyers Burok", preferably in a grand gesture of a peaceful march to each and every Sultan and finally the Agong.

O'ye non-raisin headed free princes of the land –

With the end of apartheid or end of extreme religion as incentive, whatever the language and preference, so long as the citizens of this nation are loyal to it's interests in a way that does not shame the rulers, harm the neutrality of the civil and syariah courts, do not practice corruption, nor nepotism or pen abusive laws (such as Toll Concessions, AP-System, Forced Military Conscriptions, impose on non-Muslim proclivities and preferences) . . . you can be sure that all Malaysians will do their utmost to ensure the nation's future.

Thus only love of the people for the rulers who effect emancipation of the disenfranchised minorities or double standard extremism afflicted groups, can ensure well distributed prosperity and a SINCERELY joyful citizentry – for as long as the world's current paradigm of nation based citizenships's lasts.

After denouncing politically nepotistic Oligarchs – the HM Agong and HHs Sultans have but a simple task to do, treat Mankind in Malaysia justly as Malaysia's signatory of the Human Rights Article 1 and the Hadiths An -Nisa’:1 and Al-Hujurat:13,against Asabiya, and exonerate themselves from the suspicions of both citizens and the world of the tacit approval of the UMNO-Putra racist faction's APARTHEID and extreme ill gotten wealth.

One edict to bind them all – IN TRUE UNITY AS EQUAL CITIZENS. The Ruler's Collective can dally no more, and to act in the best interests of the citizentry is the only duty and distinction between of those of true blue blood and the materialistic, unethical and unprincipled politicians and bureaucrats.

    1) Freedom from Apartheid/Fascism

    2) Freedom from Religious-Persecution/Religious-Supremacy.

    3) Equality for all ethnicities and faiths in all aspects of policy, Law and Constitution.

Make Daulat Tuanku means something for all citizens and embrace the equality of Humanity for those incapable of exerting the authority you hold! It is your God given power to emancipate and to educate the wrong doers, time for the flowering of the Malay psyche should begin at the top, so lead, O'prices of the land, lead to the truths of Humanism (nominally embraced throughout Islam as well) . . .

  3. I'm not a law student but count me in, even if in the capacity to buy teh tarik and nasi lemak.

  4. Malaysians are relatively well off in the material sense, but many are still very poor upstairs.

Material wealth alone can't make a country progress. Vision 2020 is much farther than we think.

  5. I'm in. The 1Malaysia Youths Graduands Club has a 1 track mind. Team 100 will have 100 and more!

  6. My dear Amer

Please consider me, broken leg or not, in the group as well.

We should be able to get more than a hundred, amigo. And by the way, I have lost your handphone number as well as Edmund's. Can you please SMS me on my handphone 016-4837123?

Cheers … and please keep up the good work.

  7. I would love to be in but I'm no lawyer. I'm an auditor/accountant. Nonetheless, count me in as I'm fully supporting your cause.

  8. How I wish that I could graduate earlier and become part of Team100 to defend Bar Council, MyConstitution Campaigners, and ultimately, MyConstitution!
