  1. To observer

i agree with you. Talk to them nicely and they will be nice to you. You have done wrong, so accept it.

    Itu yang paling tepat…

  2. u are a damn bitch … u provoke those policemen and blame them for ur summon…y dun u b more civilize and stop being so irritating!!!…open minded konon

  3. Ambil video takde masalah, cuma kalau perempuan ni rasa tak bersalah, pergi la selesaikan kat balai kalau tak puas hati. Kenapa perlu conteng surat saman?

  4. I have no love lost with the PDRM, but in this case it seems that you ‘started’ the whole incident. I have to say that the 2 police officers were pretty patient (although not really know how to act when you started to video them). I showed the video to my wife and even she agree that perhaps you could have acted better and be the bigger person. For your info even my 7 year old ask why you are so rude. It takes two to tango, and from what I see, you were a willing partner in this dance. Perhaps there is an udang di sebalik what you did?

  5. Let's cooperate with the police. The policemen were only doing their duty and why so much fuss. Talk to them nicely and they will be nice to you. You have done wrong, so accept it. This is the problem with some of us. We feel that we are always right even when we beat the law. Just imagine without the police. Could we live a peaceful life? We need them in our society so let's give them our support. The policemen were not intimidating the driver. The driver was trying to play smart. Why speak English when she knows that the policemen could only speak Malay. At least communicate with them in Malay. Trying to show that you are very educated? I feel that the driver was intimidating the policemen and not the other way round. Be a gentle lady. Collect the ticket and be gentle enough to pay the fine. When the police are doing the right thing please support them. Common sense should prevail

  6. Actually, the policemen have the legal rights to withold the offender’s identity card as evidence of the encounter and also incase the accused bolts away and later denies that he was at the scene of the incident. If the police perceives that you have either been uncooperative or is hampering their work they can either arrest you on the spot or request you to follow them to the nearest police station so that a charge can be made against you which may require you to be detained for a maximum of 48 hours or bail is offered pending court appearance.

  7. I’m agreed with Paul Warren. You’re using the phone with your hand(left hand) not the handsfree device.

Now you’re trying to make a scene just because you know a little law & got the camera phone.Come on lady learn to respect others first before hoping someone else to respect you.

Your tone is wayyy to cocky. You keep mentioning you’re malaysian citizen.WHY DON’T YOU USE BAHASA MALAYSIA all the time???

And you’re making fun of police officer just because they can’t speak & understand english very well. You asking them what intimidation is.HAHAHAHA

Shame on you.My advice to you is learn how to drive according to law first. At least record your on face la leng loi.

  8. There is a grey area of law whether u committed an offence Pam cos definition of handsfree is not clear. U may be right.

  9. If you have committed a traffic offence in the eyes of those enforcing the law, just accept the summons. No need to take pictures. If they ask to settle the matter indirectly by you paying a bribe, then record the conversation discreetly.Again, no need to show the camera/handphone.

The policemen are only doing their job like policemen in other parts of the world.Even in developed countries, those who are alleged to have committed some wrong just accept the summons and argue it out in court.

The tone of your voice indicates a refusal to acknowledge enforcers of the law and an attitude problem!

  10. Its not the fault of Pamela neither is the fault of the 2 policemen. Is the system, wat u expect 2 spm dropout with rm700 salary to behave. Facing one perodua lady whom knew a little law. Malaysia is heading 4 doom. Of course there is coniving policemen but I have personnally met really decent and good policemen. Also I have met more bitchy rakyat than pamela. Keep cool u ppl. Its those PPL who wants all this hatred among us. Dont fall to the trap. Peace!

  11. i think we should all give this issue a rest.

The police is wrong for their attitute conduct.

Pam is right for standing to her right UNTIL she arrogantly scribble on the summon(please see the video carefully she DID break the law as she didt challenge that).

This video for putting on the net just a CHEAP way to get publicity which clearly PAM trying to show she is right.

I think she just show all of us she is immature in handling this thing.

  12. Both parties are emotional.

Pamela, why dont u just sign the summon and make no fuss abt it at the scene? if u not happy, then take down their names and police number and make a police report. What good do u think will rise once you have make the recording? It is a near apparent that you want to manipulate these 2 policemen whom you thought will get scared by yr recordings. It could be that you are the one who is intimdating. Not the policemen.

I am not taking side here. But I think this is petty. You are not happy with the summon, you negotiate, like we always do. Do not resort to these sort of behaviour. If they still issue you the summon, then you make a police report a nearby police station.

Grow up lah Pamela. Do not sensationalise every single thing.

  13. There is a significant difference between a common citizen and a citizen with motive filming the issue.

  14. Hi, there seem to be a group of people try to hit out at Pam, the cop & friend? R U?

OK let break the issue in to parts and see if it is right or wrong.

    1. Taping the scene – right or wrong?

I would prefer right – cause if anything bad happen at least there is a video evidence reference for BOTH PARTIES, the video do not necessary benefit Pam only.

This is talking from my view as a cctv contractor of cause, any comment?, even the cop boss have started installing cctv in petrol cars & even mobile unit these r live cam.

    2. withholding IC & License – legal or un-legal?

    3. not giving saman – legal or un-legal?

basically if a saman must be issue on-the-spot for every offense, than i think bribe can be reduce, whatever other issue can be corrected at police station or email correspondence.

This way the cop will not be super motivated to eye (mata) all small matter offense, instead they should be rewarded (RM1000) for every snacth thief they can push in to lock up.

of cause this is my POV, do not mean anything.

    4. talking so much, good or bad?, like all customer service, cop are no difference, just tell Pam her "kesalahan", ask to sign, that all, simple right? not so here.

  15. I once had a similar experience on the NSE.I was caught for speeding but I was dead sure I was not becoz I have always followed rules when driving.I tried explaining to them but from their conversation, they wanted to 'kao tim'.I refused and a heated argument exchanged and they wanted to arrest me.If not for my wife who was already crying,I cooled down.I accepted their summons and tore it in front of them.I am waiting to be taken to court and see what evidence they can produce. This hand held laser gun to detect speeding is just one convenient way for them to cari makan.

  16. This video shows a typical Chinese lady who was clearly provoking the enforcer. They were just doing their job but the thing is, this lady would definitely would not say what she did which caused the policemen flagged her off.

A classic method of trying to instil hatred and doubt on the police force.

    Haiqal Yussuf..

  17. as she clearly stated..

"loyar burok" = noun, colloquialism: one who is full of hot air; one who enjoys to talk a lot about things that serve no useful purpose…

pity those two policemen for being "mangsa keadaan" while she herself might just doing it for seronok-seronok..

    err..daniel.. u faham ke tak..?

  18. Maybe I'm old. Maybe I'm old-fashioned. But I believe this is one of those situations where empathy, cultural competence, and emotional intelligence are more important than clinging to individual rights and legal principles. Didn't someone say that laws are made for men and not the other way around? I'm happy to say that in my few encounters with the police, I've always been able to get out of tight spots by appealing to their basic humanity — without bribery, which in any case I wouldn't know how to initiate to save my life.

  19. Pamela has every right to take a video! Just reading the news everyday will show the amount of cases of police impersonators that rape/rob. Heck, even the police themselves rape and rob too! The video is called self protection. Besides, this just shows how unprofessional the policeman was. If the policeman was professional enough, I hardly think that Pamela would have needed to take the video. Issue the summons, educate her on the law that she has broken, and go off. How difficult is that?

  20. Visu,

she is right to stand up and not intimidate by the police but standing up to your right and by going overboard is a different story.

WHY scribble on the summon when she clearly did make an offense?

standing to your right and arrogantly challenging an offense you commit is a different thing.

  21. aku tak sokong monah ni… over sangat… budak2 polis ni pulak tak tau nak handle…. jgn bikin benda2 yg tak faedah ni… kalau org dah menyampah kang susah….

  22. Ini macam punya ahsoo pun ada ka?

Lu nak argue pergi mahkamah bukan dengan polis…

bari bawak Kenari sudah tunjuk lagak, belum lagi lu bawak Lamborghini …

Lu buat salah admit laaa, jangan tunjuk lagak…

  23. I think Pamela is right to write additional comments on the summnon because she is the one who is going to sign it. Dont tell me you will sign on anything without checking the correctness of the documents you are going to sign.

  24. I can hardly sense any intimidation from the police, their attitude has always been like this.

What was the alleged offence anyways? Did it warrant you taking a video of it? If the attitude of the policemen was indeed intimidating prior to you filming why wasn't it properly addressed in the film?

Why would you speak english to them when they clearly have no grasp of the language?

I do have to agree with you that there is no justification in them taking your license and ic, then asking you to go to the sation.

To everyone else, if your going to attack the author for her conduct, do it with some sense and don't rely to name calling.

  25. Malaysians seem like a bunch of "Gone Cases" looking at the comments. Videos like this are for us to see the message and learn and comment about things that are important for the Rakyat and the civil society's well being. Unfortunately many comments are shameful and disgusting. The Policeman in this video is typical of Malaysian Police behaviour. All he needed to do was issue her her summons and not talk too much. The 'too much talk' is for intimidation and to extract money out of the Pamela. I am proud of Pamela as most woman, let alone men including some of the commentators, she has guts to stand up and take a summon.

  26. First of all, i dont think there is anything wrong of the filming,

if you are filming their private life, yes.

But you are filming a public servant doing a PUBLIC work is not wrong.

    That is within her right.

But she has committed an traffic offense and scribble on the summon just indicate she went overboard by challenging the authority for discharging their job (regardless of their attitute) which she deserves a summon.

i am not supporting the policemen attitude but i think both parties are wrong.

  27. Lim bin Ganesan,

It is just not about 'not doing anything wrong, so why worry about being filmed.' There is also such thing as violation of private space and in such individual space and rights needs to be respected. By filming without consent, it is violating individual space.

  28. Pamela Lim

Seems like you were inviting intimidation. Not completely convinced about the Police Intimidation. You scared them and they reacted with Macho Bravado thats all. To my mind it seems like you invited intimidation. I can think of a 100 ways to solve the problem about getting a summonds for talking on the phone while driving and nothing is close you what you suggest "intimidation". I guess it takes two to be polite and understanding.

    regards

    Mani

  29. The video just shows an egoistic and thought-herself-as-highly-educated bitch quarrel with two unprofessional policemen

  30. I had been serving and fighting for the Nation – Malaysia during my service days. As an elders (I’m in mid 50’s now)I feel it is my duty to give this advice. Pamela had her right to do anything within the scope of law, to accept the summon and photgraphs the Police. But the Police initially, did some mistake by taking her ID and Driving license away. Then they asked her to drive to the Police Station because they don’t want their photograph taken and Pamela did wrote something in the Summon Book as well. With that Pamela was right not to move anywhere without any authorise paper for letting her as such to be on the road, legally.

    MY COMMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS.
The Police cannot asked Pamela to drive to the Police Station with her ID and License being in the Police Custody, it is illegal. What if, Pamela involved in an accident, will the Police bear the responsibility to the other party in the accident, whlie she was driving with no D/License – Definitely it is a totally NO for the 2 Police Guys.

For Pamela, she has no business to write anything in the Summon Paper, because she has all the ingredient and evidence against the Police if she is to go to the Court and her Lawyer can handle that excellently for her.

So, it is right for the Police to be humble and give back the ID & her D/License and I do commend the 2 Police Guys for keeping their cool, and did the right thing at the end by letting the Court to decide their fate altogether. For Pamela, she is behaving within the scope of Law and the Police was rather sensitive for being photographs whilst performing their duty and should Pamela misused her cathch then, definitley she has to answer for that as well later. So guys, fair deal to all the three of you, that there is no winner at all to take all the price that you can claim anywhere. Fair Deal.

  31. For those are racist,

    please remember this,

are all malay good? are all chinese kind? are all malay lazy? are all chinese rich?

    answer is NO.

all races have good and bad people. If you only see people by skin then you are those still living in the stonehedge.

Judge people by their character not by their skin. View people beyond the skin.

Malaysia of today is the contribution of all races not one. Roles might be different but all are part of contributing.

This country coming to such poor performing is due to politicians more concern of their pocket than all of us. Malay or Chinese politicians are alike feeding their pocket first then concern the welfare of the people.

No one race is greater than others. Based on history all races have their up and down in different time period.

  32. Pam,

I don't know what provoked you to start the recording but it must be something that really pissed you off. You DID not act kurang ajar. You are standing your ground and has the right to video it. For too long, the vast majority are so scared of the police that many called them Dato' etc so as not get into trouble.

I am not sure if you are allowed to make remarks on the summons.

The policemen should have said something like "Kami menjalankan tugas, tolong Cik tandatangan, and then give back the ic & driving license. If I were them, I would even say, hope your hands did not tremble and the video turns out to be good, with a sarcastic smile of course."

What's wrong with being filmed? Did the men did something wrong?

And to those who called Pam bitch, kurang ajar etc, just stand in front of a mirror and repeat the same words, say it out loud please, and you will see instant results in the mirror.

  33. Very disappointing. Anything also can be turned into racist issue. Looks like it will be a while before Malaysia can progress. Commentators cannot even stay on topic. My comment : the policemen are not professional, if they are not going to do anything wrong why worry about being filmed/video. Just carry on doing the job they are trained to do. To scribble on the summon may not be wrong if it were to correct some mistakes done by the policeman. I have seen summons where spellings are wrong.

  34. Polis sepatutnya saman je, blah dan tak payah berleter.

Perempuan tu berkomunikasilah dalam BM, Jgn nak tunjuk hebat dengan speaking tu. Ko dah buat salah memandu terima ajelah saman tu. Aku nampak macam nak cari isu nak memburukkan anggota polis dgn buat vediotaping ni.maklumlah kan emej polis skrang kan teruk.

  35. I've had experience like this. Stopped after a traffic light when it was clearly green. They just intimidated and made loud noises. When I asked for the summons they simply made louder noises. A normal Malaysiam police conduct I guess. They simply wanted me to cough up whatever I could so they'll stop bothering me. If I took a video of it I guess they'll also be forced to give out a summons rather than letter me go after 10 mins or so.

  36. What are u try to prove by filming the cop? All that i can see the matter can be solve within minute but u the one who provoking the cop…

Hope u will get in trouble with rempits soon and dont forget to take their pic yaa…

  37. I think if the cop has nothing to hide why would he be intimidated. Just write the summons and get with it. Easy.

    Daniel,

You do not need to forgive me. I have done nothing wrong.

But I think you need to beg for forgiveness of the other forumers, with your “slaughtered and fed to pig” statement.

Trying to be a spin doctor aren't you?

  39. by the way matador,

your statement of "slaughtered and fed to pig" raises 2 more issues.

    1. you are ignorant of what's happening in the powerful country of today which is called China

    2. you are insulting the 1.3b (probably more like 1.5b or 1.6b) population there.

  40. daniel..

thank you for your comment sir.. you may now "use" them as evidence of how rude i am to you and how you are just defending yourself..

    LMAO

Simple issue? Yes, it WAS, until you turned this into killing someone. That’s simple issue?
