The KL Bar Information Technology and Communications Committee (“ITCC”) is holding a forum entitled “Freedom of Speech in the New Media”.
These days, Malaysians are less afraid to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech and expression. Most of the time, these expressions can be found online. Through the ‘new media’ Malaysians are finding their voice and their place in the democratic process.
But the internet does not exist in a vacuum. Laws are applicable online as well as offline. Where do we draw the line? Is there a line to be drawn?
To explore these issues, the KL Bar Information Technology and Communications Committee (“ITCC”) is holding a forum entitled “Freedom of Speech in the New Media”.
