LoyarBurok is 1,000 (posts, that is)!
Yes this is, in fact, the 1,000th post on this damned blawg. What better way to commemorate this milestone by looking back on some other key milestones:
- The first ever post was on was almost four years ago, on 28 February 2006, by (who else) prolific LoyarBurokker Fahri Azzat: “The Perceived Need For A Platform“. Fahri also went on to write the first ten posts!
- Our first comment (we now have 10,147 and counting) came from Lynn Cheang on 1 December 2008, in response to Fahri’s post: “On Royal Immunity“.
- The first ever photo to appear on a post in the blawg was on 2 December 2008 (incidentally, the 28th post) in a tribute to Roger Tan, written by (yes) Fahri: “Tribute: Roger Tan Retires As Bar Council Webmaster“.
- The 50th post was on 5 January 2009 by (thank God, someone else) Chen Mian Kuang: “Appointing And Promoting Judges On Merit“.
- Fahri claimed another of these milestones (bolot wei!) with the 100th post, on 3 May 2009: “A Thought About Article 11(2) Of The Federal Constitution“.
- Post #250 was by… Edmund Bon Tai Soon! But “HCt’s Decision In PP v DSAI (Pre-trial Discovery Issue)” barely qualifies as a post, does it?
- Eunice Ong‘s “Hulu Selangor Diary (Day 4): Restless And Ruminating” on 20 April 2010 was the 500th post.
- His Supreme Eminenceness Lord Bobo claimed the 750th post on 15 October 2010: “The LoyarBurok Interview: ‘Pilih’“.
But heck, all these are just coincidental numbers. Every post counts, and we hope that — in some way — each post has made a difference.
As you can tell, the posts were quite sporadic in the early days — there were 537 posts in 2010, compared to 349 in the previous four years!
Yes, we exploded in 2010, and the fire is still raging.
Thank you to all the writers. Please keep writing. To those who want to join us, please email [email protected]. All are welcome.
Here’s to hitting the 2,000th post before the end of 2011! Jom!
