KLue’s monthly Popcorn & Soda is back!

Some of you may have seen, and bought, the Bar Council’s DVD on the historic Walk For Justice which took place on 26 September 2007. It was a memorable occasion where about 2,000 lawyers decided to walk the talk and expressed their outrage over the VK Lingam video tape scandal, which had resulted in the formation of a Royal Commission of Inquiry on the said video tape scandal.

For those who have yet to watch this DVD, here is your opportunity to do so. As part of its Popcorn and Soda event, KLue will be screening the DVD at Laundry this Sunday, 17 May 2009 at 2.00pm (for half an hour).

Here’s the lowdown on the film:

When Lawyers Walk by Mien Ly (Documentary / 30 mins)
When Lawyers Walk is a rock and roll depiction of the unprecedented “Walk For Justice,” where more than 2000 lawyers shook the streets of Putrajaya on Sept 26, 2007. “When lawyers walk, something is wrong. When lawyers walk, it means that we would like to see change.” This short film is directed by Mien Ly, a director who doesn’t just make film to entertain but also to spread awareness on issues she believes in.
